Alpha Packaging announced the opening of a new 120,000 square foot plant in Jacksonville, FL. The new facility is Alpha’s fourth plant, joining existing plants in St. Louis, Salt Lake City and Bethlehem, PA. The Jacksonville location will primarily service customers in the health and beauty aid and pharmaceutical markets, with a series of new blow molding machines on order. The plant is expected to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2007. Jacksonville will run seven PET blow molding machines to meet demand for both narrow neck and wide mouth styles.

Nationwide, Alpha is adding new blow molding machines at each of its plants, increasing total manufacturing by more than 25%. Currently, 16 new machines are on order, including 1- and 2-stage PET molding machines, and HDPE (high-density polyethylene) injection blow molding machines.
